"Service" is a crucial step in the court process where one party in a case must inform the opposing party of legal proceedings. Service must be performed by someone who is not a party to the legal case. If you are a party to a family law case or a civil case you cannot legally serve the other party; it must be done by a professional process server or someone who meets the legal requirements to perform a service.
If the other party in your case will try and avoid being served there are many options available to you. 916 File Service will make three attempts to serve and can provide urgent same-day service. We include proofs of service and due diligence declarations, when necessary, at no additional charge.
Any legal files which need to be delivered to a party in person can be handled by 916 Process Service. Commonly this includes summons & complaints, subpoenas, notices of motions, writs of execution, eviction notices, family law RFO's, first filings in family law, etc.
